Laconia
has been both the
geographical and recreational center of New Hampshire
from its first
Indian inhabitants nearly 10,000 years ago. Nestled among
New
Hampshire's
largest lakes,
Winnipesaukee and Winnisquam, Paugus and
Opechee
Bays
,
Laconia
was called
"City of
The Lakes" by it’s
early settlers. Much of
Laconia's rich history is
still in place and the traditions and values of those early settlers are
still evident in its population. Laconia’s
friendly atmosphere combined with the natural beauty of lakes and
mountains surrounded by the neighboring towns of Weirs
Beach,
Meredith, Belmont,
Gilford,
Alton
and New Hampton make it great place to call home, or to plan a relaxing
vacation.
We
are fortunate to be able to enjoy four seasons of outdoor fun and
relaxation right in our own backyard. With all there is to do, including
boating, sailing, swimming, cruising, hiking, biking, camping, fishing,
tax free shopping, antiquing, fall foliage viewing, skiing,
snowboarding, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and so much more, you'll never
be bored here!
